“I’m excited to work alongside these industry leaders who share ULI’s vision of strengthening the real estate sector and building healthy, sustainable, and more equitable cities. Their guidance and expertise will enable ULI Singapore to better serve our members and solve the most pressing challenges of today and tomorrow.”
– Zheng Wanshi, Group Chief Strategy & Sustainability Officer, Frasers Property Limited; ULI Singapore Executive Committee Chair and ULI Global Governing Trustee.
To make a tangible difference in people’s lives and society as a whole, ULI has defined three mission priorities for shaping the future of the built environment: accelerating the path to net zero in the built environment, improving housing attainability for all, and diversifying our industry by educating the next generation of real estate leaders. Through our work in these areas — driven by the energy and passion of our more than 48,000 members worldwide and over 3,000 members in the Asia Pacific region resenting all aspects of land use and development disciplines — ULI empowers communities and delivers transformative impact worldwide. Integral to ULI’s mission — and underpinning every aspect of our work — is our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, which recognises that our communities will be successful and sustainable only if they work for everyone.
Reflective of ULI’s network of interdisciplinary professionals in the built environment sector, the Executive Committee will have a collective responsibility for ULI’s strategy and operations in Singapore. It will review the progress of ULI Singapore’s objectives for shaping the future of the built environment and thought leadership for the industry; membership growth and sponsorship for the financial year; opportunities to expand our impact initiatives; and support for the programmes by the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI), NEXT and Young Leadership Group (YLG) affinity groups.
Today, there are over 600 ULI members based in Singapore. From students to next generation leaders and industry veterans in both the public and private sectors, ULI Singapore’s programmes foster the activation of diverse members to collaborate locally and globally; inspiring and applying innovative solutions towards equitable and sustainable land use.
ULI Singapore would like to express heartfelt thanks to Benett Theseira – Managing Director at PGIM Real Estate and Head of Asia Pacific – for his outstanding contributions as ULI Singapore Chair for three years between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2024. Benett will stay on in the ULI Singapore Executive Committee, chairing the Nominations Committee for the next two years as the immediate past Executive Committee Chair. He will be succeeding Mrs Ong Choon Fah – ULI Global Governing Trustee – who has been the Chair of the Nominations Committee for the past three years since 1 July 2021. ULI Singapore wishes to thank Choon Fah for guiding the Executive Committee on the governance of nominating and electing Executive Committee candidates as part of leadership renewal.
ULI Singapore also offers its deep gratitude to the following leaders who rolled off the Executive Committee on 30 June 2024:
They have upheld our mission over the years and contributed greatly to the remarkable growth of ULI Singapore. They will continue to champion key initiatives and support ULI in growing and retaining members.
As a member-led Institute, ULI Singapore also wishes to express our sincere gratitude to the many members who selflessly volunteer their time and knowledge. Together, we will continue to shape the future of our built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide.
