ULI SG: UrbanPlan Volunteer Training

Volunteer as an UrbanPlan Mentor - Assist government officials to better understand real estate development in a simulation of trade-offs, issues, and economics
What
ULI Singapore's UrbanPlan for Public Officers is a realistic and engaging exercise that explores the fundamental forces that affect real estate development in our communities. Participants ask critical questions, experience diverse roles in the private and public sector, navigate complex trade-offs, and uncover the fundamental economics at play, as they race to propose land use solutions to vexing growth challenges.
Participants from different government agencies form competing development teams to respond to a simulated government land sales site. Team members work together to create a feasible proposal that meets the city's objectives, the community's interests, and investors’ bottom line.
How
Volunteers from the ULI Singapore community are trained to act as facilitators who challenge participants to improve their proposals; or join a Selection Committee to evaluate the final projects. Volunteers should have a keen eye for development challenges and be able to discuss prevailing practices.
Qualifications
We ask volunteers to have a minimum of 10 years of work experience in land use, real estate development, or a related profession, and have a flexible schedule that allows participation.
In order to participate, you must be a ULI member. We will arrange to brief and train interested volunteers who have not participated in previous training workshops.
