ULI Singapore is proud to celebrate Singapore’s 59th National Day together with the nation!
This year’s National Day Parade theme is “Together, As One United People” where it underscores the importance of collective strength of every citizen in shaping our future and uplifting those around. The spirit of inclusivity, community and trust has helped the nation to rise above all adversities and maintain its global standing in the world.
ULI Singapore embodies this indomitable spirit through championing diverse, equitable, and inclusive (DEI) communities in the built environment. Our DEI commitments seek to:
The three affinity groups – Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI), Young Leaders Group (YLG) and NEXT – are integral to ULI’s DEI commitments as they foster knowledge sharing; networking opportunities; professional development and impactful programmes across gender, age and professional expertise in both public and private sectors within the real estate sector.
The WLI network seeks to raise the visibility and number of women leaders in ULI and the real estate industry through the pillars of female empowerment and champions of change. The YLG caters to members under the age of 35 with opportunities to network with peers, gain exposure to senior industry professionals, and to continue their professional education. NEXT elevates members’ career progression for those aged 35 years old and above, who are in transition from mid-career to senior leadership within their organizations.
ULI Singapore firmly believes in our cross-disciplinary network of industry leaders who volunteer their time and expertise to spur tangible impacts in communities where we live, work and play.
UrbanPlan is a global initiative where ULI Singapore member facilitators and instructors volunteer at workshops with National University of Singapore undergraduates and postgraduates. These interactive sessions provide students with an understanding of the fundamental forces that affect urban development in our communities. The challenge invites teams to formulate a placemaking vision and propose solutions for creating vibrant and accessible urban neighbourhoods that are both socially desirable and economically viable.
ULI Awards & Competition programme provides exclusive opportunities for members to showcase their real estate projects that embrace the best of sustainability, technology and innovation. At the inaugural ULI Hines Student Competition Asia Pacific in 2023, students from Waseda University in Japan were crowned winners for the Jurong Urban Health Campus where the project envisioned JLD as a model for the future of urban healthy living. The Asia Pacific Awards for Excellence is another notable award that recognises the full development process of a project where past winners include Rifle Range Nature Park, CapitaSpring and SG Enabling Village.
Technical Advisory Services provide strategic advice to sponsors on land use and real estate development issues. In Singapore, a panel of members provided strategic advice on Jurong Lake District, a growth area that is planned as a smart and sustainable mixed-use business district. The ULI Singapore members delivered comprehensive and pragmatic recommendations to help position the district as a model of sustainable, inclusive and resilient urban planning.
ULI Singapore looks forward to celebrating Singapore’s 59th birthday come 9th of August! We will continue to make impactful contributions towards shaping the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide, particularly in Singapore.
Majulah Singapura!
