INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT PRODUCT COUNCIL CO CHAIR
The Integrated Development Council provides a forum for information exchange among peers on the ‘state of the art’ within the integrated/mixed-use development field.
The Council programme is designed to engage members based on their expertise and passion within the land use industry in an intimate setting. The goal is to create a topically focused, multidisciplinary group of senior professionals involved in a specific field, who commit to meet on a regular basis to share best practices and develop lasting relationships.
Given the limited number of large integrated mixed development in a fairly monolithic environment, the Council plans to widen and deepen the scope of its discussion. The approach is to target a locale and examine the impact of new large space users, the growth path of new micro-markets / precinct and the challenges. The discussion aims to understand how the new planning visions pan out, the juxtaposition of both the new and old; the civic / institutional and commercial spaces with higher monetary value as well as other socio-economic impact arising from the eclectic mix of users. It seeks to understand the integrated-ness, its multiplier effect & essential factors for its success. Where applicable, comparison can be made between the organic growth pattern versus the designed path.
Meetings are closed-door discussions with open conversations that address provocative questions and challenges facing integrated/mixed-use developments. Council members must attend two of three consecutive meetings to retain their seat, or obtain an excused absence from the council chair. To the extent a member misses two out of three sessions, they may not be asked to renew their application. Participation and attendance are key to the success of the entire council, so each member is expected to participate actively. This includes helping to brainstorm topics for council meetings, attending each meeting and actively engaging with panelists and moderators to ensure a rich environment of ideas.
