ULI Singapore's WLI (Women's Leadership Initiative) is excited to invite you to exclusive dinners with some of the most dynamic and influential real estate leaders in Singapore. Enjoy dinner and drinks with your peers and two established executives open to sharing their insights, professional experiences, and personal anecdotes in a casual setting. To help foster an intimate experience, a maximum of 4 ULI women members may attend each of these dinners.
 
HOW TO REGISTER 
 
Due to limited spaces, we are accepting expressions of interest to attend these dinner sessions before 1 April. Successful members will be notified by email by 2 April, after which they will be asked to register and pay the registration fee within three working days. Registration is only open to ULI women members and is non-transferrable. Priority will be given to first time applicants.

Adeline Ong

SVP, Head of Group Strategic Communications & Branding, Frasers Property Limited

A curious individual who thrives well with change, Adeline is passionate about people and purpose. She has a diverse 25-year career comprising in-house and agency experience across Marketing, Corporate and Marketing Communications with MNCs, including Frasers Property Limited, Viacom, Hewlett-Packard and Burson-Marsteller. At Frasers Property, Adeline is tasked to shape the Group’s strategic communications and branding efforts – internally and externally, enhance Frasers’ corporate brand positioning and ensure a consistent brand identity across its growing multi-national portfolio in Asia Pacific and Europe. In addition, she leads the Group’s strategic direction around community investments and is a member of the Diversity & Inclusion taskforce. Prior to Frasers, she was the VP of Corporate and Brand Communications for Asia Pacific at Viacom where she spent six years driving the storytelling and branding in media entertainment. During her 12-year tenure with HP, she spent her later years heading an APAC team on multi-stakeholder communications and enterprise marketing for the Imaging and Printing Group.

Sushma Goh

Director, Architecture, Land Transport Authority (LTA)

Sushma joined the Land Transport Authority (LTA) in 2016 as Director of Architecture. Her team of architects and design professionals design and deliver new stations and related transport infrastructure on the rapidly expanding Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) network of Singapore. At LTA, she spearheads the development of strategic policies and design standards for transport infrastructure and is constantly exploring innovative solutions for signage and wayfinding for public transport. She is particularly energised by the Art In Transit programme where her team works with leading Singaporean artists and curators to create unique and integrated artworks for every new station, to enliven the daily travels of millions of commuters. From 2006 to 2016, Sushma helmed the National Gallery Singapore project – a heritage conservation project which involved the adaptive redesign and construction of two of Singapore’s largest and most significant national monuments; City Hall and the former Supreme Court. As Project Director, she engaged a wide range of stakeholders in developing the project brief and organised an international architectural design competition which led to the winning architects being commissioned to design and execute the Gallery project. She oversaw the design development, coordination, conservation and construction aspects of the buildings and exhibition spaces. At the same time, she facilitated the documentation of the building transformation journey through the publication of two books and the commissioning of a documentary. The National Gallery Singapore opened its doors to the public in late 2015. Sushma has over 30 years of extensive design and project management experience in Australia and Singapore, ranging from residential, commercial and institutional buildings to transport architecture, museum design and exhibition design - with a particular focus on heritage conservation. More recently, Sushma has been exploring the transformative aspects of organisational development concepts in managing and leading teams towards a rich, collaborative and energising work environment.

Corina Leung

Design Director, LWK + PARTNERS

Corina is an award-winning interior designer with more than 16 years of extensive professional experience in the commercial mixed-use sector. She received her Bachelor of Interior Architecture degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia and worked in architectural offices in Sydney, Hong Kong, Shanghai & Los Angeles before having relocated to Singapore. She is best known in the industry for her creativity and superior sense of style. Prior to joining LWK & Partners in 2018, Corina worked with several international architecture firms, planning and designing large-scale commercial interior projects across Hong Kong, Macau, China, Southeast Asia and Australia. Her well-rounded approach and experience with a wide variety of prominent clients have been recognised with a variety of industry awards. With an eye for quality and a client-centred approach to business, she offers a balance of creativity, collaboration and forward thinking with a structured, organised and detailed mentality; enabling her to deliver focused development, follow through and total completion to each aspect of the design.

Andy Lee

Chief Asset Management Officer, Pontiac Land Group

Mr Andy Lee has been involved in real estate investment management activities over the last 28 years. These include deal sourcing, structuring and execution, asset and development management as well as divestment activities. He is currently the Chief Asset Management Officer with Pontiac Land Group, a Singapore-based real estate developer with a portfolio of luxury projects such as Ritz Carlton Millenia, Capella Sentosa and Millenia Singapore. The portfolio includes residential, office, retail, hospitality and medical sectors that spans across Singapore, New York, Sydney and the Maldives. Prior to Pontiac Land, Mr Lee was the Senior Vice President of GIC Real Estate Pte Ltd. In his 19 years with GIC, he was involved in investment and asset management activities in Japan, Russia, China, India, Europe and South East Asia. Mr Lee was also based in GIC Real Estate’s London office from 2003 till 2005. Prior to GIC, he was with Keppel Land from 1994 to 1998. Mr Lee graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1993 with a degree in BSc (Estate Management) (First Class Honours).

Teng Wui Leong

Chief Development Officer, The Ascott Limited & Head of Projects & Technical Services, CapitaLand, CapitaLand

Teng Wui has over 20 years of experience in planning, designing and executing urban scale districts, mixed-use, residential and hospitality developments internationally. He has held various senior positions across public sector, private consulting and international real estate companies – from Head of Urban Design at the Singapore Urban Redevelopment Authority to directing international masterplanning and architecture project consulting at CPG Consultants and Ong & Ong Pte Ltd; to developing real estate projects at the Hong Leong Group and Millennium and Copthorne Hotels International. TW is currently the Chief Development Officer of the Ascott Limited, the global lodging business arm of Capitaland Group. Capitaland is one of Asia’s largest diversified real estate groups. Its portfolio spans across commercial, retail; business park, industrial and logistics; integrated development, urban development; as well as lodging and residential in over 30 countries. TW leads the corporate project development, products and technical services team that has supported Ascott growth from 3 hospitality brands in 2012 to 13 award-winning brands in 2019 across multiple market segments. Ascott currently has over 110,000 units of serviced apartments, hotels, corporate housing and multifamily housing units under management and development in over 700 properties in 179 cities in Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa, Middle East and North America. The team also supports Capitaland’s innovation drive to develop new real estate products, design typologies, sustainable buildings, townships and smart cities. This includes the successful launch of lyf - Ascott’s new co-living brand for millennials and the lyf flagship at Funan - South East Asia largest co-living property; as well as developing new lodging asset classes like senior living and student housing. TW holds a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard University where he was an Urban Redevelopment Authority Postgraduate Scholar. He studied architecture at the National University of Singapore (B.Arch (Hons)) where he was awarded the University Gold Medal.

Edith Tay

Executive Director, PropertyBank Pte Ltd

Edith is the Executive Director of PropertyBank Pte Ltd. She has more than 20 years of experience in real estate. Her previous years representing DTZ, Knight Frank and SembCorp have imbued in her a strong and substantial foundation in commercial real estate. She has serviced both occupiers and investors, many of whom continue to engage her for negotiations of subsequent premises and projects. Her commercial real estate experience spans across various sectors. Her understanding of the business requirements in Education, Healthcare and Hi-tech manufacturing sectors, has helped her contribute to their relocation and expansion decisions. Some of the valued occupiers that she has serviced include ACRA, Advantest, Brightpoint, Cherie Hearts, Diethelm, Extra Space, Hoya Medical, Hyper Island Institute of Higher Education, Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants, Lucite, Nicocia Expresso, Parkway Shenton Medical, Regus Singapore Institute of Technology and Technoform Bautec. She has also gone beyond introducing ready-built premises, to offering Built-To-Suit solutions. One such accomplishment was a Design & Build project for an aerospace company. Edith has also established an impressive record in leading the marketing of hi-tech and industrial buildings such as FoodXchange @ Admiralty, Goodvine Building, 7000 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5, Platinum 28, 1 Yishun Ave 7, Golden Agri Plaza, Nordic European Centre, 178 Paya Lebar Road and Ubi Techpark. In addition, Edith is the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) trainer at Singapore Accredited Estate Agencies – educating agents on the land zoning, regulations of industrial properties in Singapore and their responsibilities as a practising agent. She also actively contributes to Entrepreneurs’ Digest on topics closely relevant to business owners when they consider rental or purchase of commercial and industrial properties. Edith is a firm believer in education. She is a certified Singapore Accredited Mortgage Planner and has also completed Global Real Estate Specialist Course.

Cissy Wong

Associate, ma:apd studio

Cissy Wong is the founder and director of ma:apd studio, an American architect, now settled and licenced in Singapore. Cissy has over 20 years of professional experience and has led projects across the world in USA, Singapore, India, China, and Russia. Cissy graduated from Austin E. Knowlton School of Architecture. Two of the projects she led at WSA Studio – the Austin E. Knowlton School of Architecture at OSU and Buggyworks Lofts - have won American Institute of Architects Design Awards in the USA. In Singapore, she has played a lead role on the teams for Rhode and Schwartz Asia HQ (Forum) and the Woodlands Health Campus (SAA), amongst others. While Cissy has honed her design skills in multiple building typologies, her calling lies in adaptive re-use, mixed-use, residential, academic, healthcare, and workplace designs. Adopting the Japanese concept of “ma” on space and time, ma:apd studio sets out to create designs that integrate architecture, planning, and interior design. Cissy has a strong understanding of North American and Asian design cultures and is an advocate for sustainable design. Her approach to design, informed by her experience on a multitude of project types and scales, combines function, buildability, and beauty seamlessly.

Augustine Tan

Executive Director, Property Services, Far East Organization Pte Ltd

Augustine is Executive Director, Property Services Division at Far East Organization, Singapore’s largest private property developer with operations in the city-state, Malaysia and Australia. The Organization develops, owns and manages a diverse spectrum of real estate products in the residential, hospitality, retail, commercial, healthcare and industrial space segments. These include eleven properties which have been conferred the prestigious international FIABCI Prix d’Excellence Awards. Augustine provides strategic leadership and management oversight for the Organization’s Development Projects, Central Engineering and Estate Management functions. Prior to this role, he was Executive Director overseeing Property Sales Business Group and Corporate Affairs. Augustine serves on several high-level executive committees in Far East Organization providing strategic counsel and leadership to guide business and operational excellence of various business groups. Augustine is also the Immediate Past President of the Real Estate Developers’ Association of Singapore, the representative body spearheading the advancement of the real estate industry and its contribution to Singapore’s development as a global city of distinction. He is a Board member of the Institute of Real Estate Urban Studies at the National University of Singapore and member of the Urban Land Institute Singapore Executive Committee. Prior to joining Far East Organization in 2013, Augustine was with Keppel Land International Limited as President of Singapore Residential and Head of Regional Investments. In his span of 21 years with Keppel Land, Augustine held various leadership and senior positions. Augustine holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Science in Estate Management from the University of Singapore.

Lorraine Yip

Senior Associate Director, Benoy

Lorraine Yip is a Senior Associate Director with over 18 years of architectural design experience based in Singapore, China and Australia. With project experience extending through Asia, APAC, United States, Europe and the Middle-East, designing and managing across a range of building typologies from commercial, residential, retail, education, mixed-use, public and community. Over the years, Lorraine has led teams to coordinate, produce and develop schemes and presentations for projects of varying scales and complexities. From inception and Concept Design, through to Design Development, Documentation and Construction. She has worked on a number of award winning projects such as the UTS University Great Hall, Australia (Master Builders Award in Education) and The Melbourne Convention Centre, Australia (Australian Institute of Architects, Major Projects Victoria Awards, UDIA Awards, Australian Interior Design Awards, World Architecture Festival shortlist), as well as Saltwater Coast Lifestyle Community Centre (Australian Institute of Architects, Australian Timber Design Award, Intergrain Timber Vision Awards).

Alan Miyasaki

Senior Managing Director, Blackstone

Alan Miyasaki is a Senior Managing Director in the Real Estate Group and the Head of Real Estate Asia Acquisitions. Mr. Miyasaki is based in Singapore and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Real Estate group’s investment activities in Asia. Since joining Blackstone in 2001, Mr. Miyasaki has been involved in a variety of real estate transactions in both the United States and Asia. Since 2007, Mr. Miyasaki has played a key role in building Blackstone’s Real Estate business in Asia including executing investments in Greater China, India, Singapore, Japan and Australia. Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Miyasaki was with Starwood Capital Group, where he worked in acquisitions. Mr. Miyasaki received a BS in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated cum laude. He currently serves on the board of the Singapore American School Foundation, K Raheja Corp Investment Managers LLP (manager of the Mindspace Business Parks REIT) and 151 Property Group.

Cecilia Tan

CEO, Sasseur Group

Cecilia Tan current serves as the Senior Strategic Adviser to Mr Vito Xu, the Founder and Chairman of China-based Sasseur Group. Sasseur Group is China’s leading privately-owned outlet mall operator, and currently manages a total of 13 outlet malls across major cities in China. Sasseur Group is also the sponsor of SGX- listed Sasseur REIT. Cecilia is also an Independent Director of SGX-listed Roxy Pacific Holdings Limited, a group which is involved in property development & investment, and hospitality businesses in Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Thailand and Malaysia. Cecilia started her professional career in investment banking with NM Rothschild and JPMorgan Chase, where she was involved in a wide range of capital markets and cross-border M&A transactions. She has accumulated significant real estate expertise backed by more than 15 years of extensive management experience from numerous leadership roles in prior CEO, CFO and MD positions in real estate investment and fund management, and property development companies. She has hands-on experience in managing private and publicly listed companies, including engaging with various key stakeholders such as regulators (SGX, MAS), board of directors, trustee, business partners, lenders, market analysts, institutional investors, retail investors and employees. She is a member of the Singapore Institute of Directors and a member of Urban Land Institute. She holds a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University, Australia and graduated with a Second Upper Class Honours Degree in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore Cecilia is effectively bilingual and is proficient in both English and Chinese languages. She is able to speak, write and read legal and business documents in both languages, and is able to converse in major dialects such as Hokkien, Teochew and Cantonese. She is active in the community through volunteering in church-based activities, and has been elected as the Chairperson for the Parents Support Group of St Joseph’s Institution starting from January 2021. On the personal front, she endeavours to maintain an active & healthy lifestyle through regular fitness regimes. She enjoys travelling, shopping and gatherings with friends and family members over meals.

Chief Operating Officer, 8M Real Estate Pte Ltd

Sara Villarreal joined 8M Real Estate in 2016, progressing quickly in her tenure, from Head of Business Development to Chief Operating Officer. Sara advocates that the foundation to any successful business is its people, and it is her duty to bring 8M’s talented people together daily to achieve company performance and growth goals, whilst nurturing the company’s creative culture. Sara, who has been in Asia for nearly 15 years, has a diverse and entrepreneurial background including early beginnings at Deloitte (Los Angeles), working as an analyst for Anheuser Busch (Shanghai), setting up her own thriving retail business, The Villa (Shanghai), and joining the launch team for the Chinese market entry of Value Retail (Shanghai), a UK real estate developer. Sara has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics / Accounting and a Certificate in Finance for Non-Finance Executives from Berkeley Haas School of Business.

Yang Liang Chua

Head of Group Research & Analytics, ARA Asset Management Limited

Dr Chua Yang Liang is Head of Group Research & Analytics, where he is responsible for monitoring, evaluating and forecasting the macroeconomic environment as well as major real estate markets globally. Through his analysis of the macro and micro market trends, Dr Chua provides research advice and market intelligence to support the Group’s business decision-making and strategy formulation. Prior to joining ARA, Dr Chua led the Southeast Asia research teams at Jones Lang LaSalle for over 10 years. His responsibilities included forecasting property markets, conducting market and development advisory, and providing commentaries to clients and the media on matters relating to property and urban policy issues. Dr Chua began his career in physical and strategic planning at the Urban Redevelopment Authority in Singapore. Dr Chua holds a Bachelor of Science (Estate Management) (First Class Honours) from the National University of Singapore and a Master of City Planning and a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania, USA. He is also an Adjunct Researcher with the Center for Liveable Cities, Ministry of National Development.

More than 15 years of investments career with extensive experience in real estate finance, investment sales and business development. Prior to joining real estate, Fu Jin was in the finance sector working in local and foreign banks in Singapore after he graduated from SMU. During his tenure at ZACD, Fu Jin has successfully fund-raised for several residential and commercial developments in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. At Assets Advisory, Fu Jin and team assist their clients in sourcing, due diligence and structuring of real estate investments in South-east Asia. Fu Jin is also effectively conversant in transacting properties across all sectors of Residential, Commercial & Industrial with his breath of experience, networks and his passion in fulfilling clients’ real estate needs. General Manager, Gensler

EeTiong Lim, a UK registered architect, has many years experience in London, Hong Kong and Singapore. He has knowledge of large scale architecture and master planning design projects in Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific. Many of the projects involve complex design, programming and management challenges. He specializes in design and delivery of Mixed use, Transport Orientated Developments (TOD), High rise projects and master planning developments. He has led many high profile projects in Asia Pacific, some of the key projects that he has led and was involved in include Singapore Capitaland Rochester Park development, HCMC Landmark 81 development, Jakarta-Bandung high speed rail TOD master plan, Guangzhou TOD development and China Merchants Bank Shanghai HQ.

Richard Paine

Senior Development Director, Singapore, Lendlease Asia Holdings Pte Ltd

Richard Paine has over 30 years of property industry experience and has worked on numerous high profile projects, in partnership with co-investors and on fund mandates in the Asia Pacific region. With 19 years’ real estate experience in Asia, Richard has developed an extensive network with government agencies, investors, banks and key stakeholders. Richard has a very good understanding of the success factors for property development, ownership and performance. Richard recently led the development of Paya Lebar Quarter, a centrally located international mixed-use development and a key catalyst to the URA masterplan to transform Paya Lebar into Singapore’s new business and lifestyle hub. Paya Lebar Quarter is one of Singapore’s most progressive and sustainable precincts with next generation workplaces and residences, dynamic dining and shopping options, and generous green public spaces. Richard was previously Managing Director of Investment Management, Asia, where he was responsible for the Lendlease Investment Management, Asset & Property Management businesses in Asia, with over S$5 billion in assets under management. Prior to Investment Management, Richard was Head of Integrated Solutions, leading a team in matching capital to the numerous project opportunities available to Lendlease. The team comprised research, capital transaction, equity sourcing and product development functions. Richard holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mech) (Hons) degree from the University of Sydney. He also possesses a graduate diploma of Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute.
