ULI SG: UrbanPlan Workshop
“A fun and interactive workshop that helps public officers gain insights into the considerations and challenges faced by developers when planning and designing a project. By working on a case study, participants will have the opportunity to balance across planning and design, financial, and community relations priorities, but from a private sector perspective. This is helpful towards realising better public-private sector partnerships in our plans and
development.”
– Caroline Seah, Director (Professional & Industry Development), Urban Redevelopment Authority
ULI Singapore's UrbanPlan Workshop is a realistic and engaging exercise that explores the fundamental forces that affect real estate development in our communities. Participants ask critical questions, experience diverse roles in the private and public sector, navigate complex trade-offs, and uncover the fundamental economics at play, as they race to propose land use solutions to vexing growth challenges.
Participants from the public and private sectors form competing development teams to respond to a simulated government land sales site. Team members work together to create a feasible proposal that meets the city's objectives, the community's interests, and investors’ bottom line.

“As someone who has been engaged in the urban planning and real estate development sectors for over 35 years, I have found the involvement in UrbanPlan to be both gratifying, in terms of being able to pass on knowledge to those coming from different backgrounds, and, at the same time, has made me think again about many of the principles that underpin our day to day activities in the industry. I would strongly encourage anyone who was able to, to participate in the training."
– Peter Hyland, Regional Director, Cistri
