In October 2019, young industry leaders had the pleasure of an intimate and casual breakfast event on the topic of Managing Upwards.

It was insightful to hear from Benett Theseira and Frank Ng’s sharing on the topic, especially for our under-35 members in their early-to-middle stages of their careers. From the concept of ‘Performance Currency’ to personal anecdotes from many years of experience, our ULI YLG members had plenty to take away at the end of the session.

The concept of performance currency was exceptionally refreshing and the personal experiences shared by speakers have reaffirmed the importance of having both a Sponsor and Mentor at work!

The concept of performance currency has reiterated the idea of outperforming yourself, not just once but multiple times and this concept can be applied in other areas of life not limiting to work alone.
