The 2020 ULI Singapore Mentorship Programme concluded on 12 August 2021 through a virtual get-together. This 12-month programme, organised by ULI Singapore and supported by ULI Singapore’s Young Leaders Group (YLG), NEXT and Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) committees, was aimed at fostering relationships between real estate industries professionals and providing venues for exchanging ideas.
The 2020 Mentorship Programme was kicked off on 10 June 2020 when Singapore was emerging out of the nation’s Circuit Breaker. Mr Park Sang Jin who was then YLG Singapore Co-Chair shared at the get-together that they believed the mentorship programme was a good way to keep ULI members engaged outside of physical events, citing the continued support received from the ULI community during that period of time. Ms Orphelia Huang who was also serving as YLG Singapore Co-Chair in 2020 said that the mentorship programme had seen growing participation from mentors and mentees who appreciated how the programme was able to connect the ULI community with Singapore’s inspiring real estate sector leaders, movers and shakers.
The 2020 mentors and mentees exchanged their memories and highlights throughout the programme in group sharing sessions facilitated by current YLG Co-chairs Ms Nicole Chua, Senior Associate at CMS, and Mr Tan Yi-xun, Assistant Vice President at CapitaLand, as well as YLG Committee member Ms Mich Goh, Head of Public Policy (SEA) at Airbnb.
Through the sharing sessions, it was noteworthy that strong and deep relationships between mentors and mentees have been formed throughout the programme despite restrictions brought by the pandemic. Moreover, the programme was not only a learning experience for the mentees, but also brought mentors new perspectives.

We wish all the 2020 mentors and mentees the best and hope their mentor-mentee relationships continue to flourish beyond the programme.
